About Study Centre
Yashwantrao Chavhan Maharashtra Open University Nashik got permission to run a study centre in 1996 for B.A. and B.Com. at Arts, Commerce and Science College Navapur.
The centre started in a very rudimentary stage. Gradually, the system of the centre was propagated and spread among the masses and the number of students enrolled in the centre gradually increased as students who had dropped out due to some reasons got an opportunity to complete their further education. Many students have graduated from the centre. Due to the continuous demand from these students to provide opportunities for further education, in 2015 a request was made to Open University for M.A. English and M.A. Marathi subjects and considering the available facilities and number of faculty in the college, Open University approved to start two post graduate courses namely English and Marathi. In 2016, M.Com. was approved and in 2018, M.B.A. was approved. In 2021, the centre got permission for post-graduate courses in Economics and Public Administration.
So far, the centre has been awarded ‘A’ grade by the university in the academic audit conducted twice in 2015-16 and 2020-21.
Many students of the study centre participated in the university Youth Festival, Sports Festival etc.
From 2018, the University sanctioned National Service Scheme units to the Study Centre. Initially, 50 students were approved, then after two years, 100 students were approved.
From 2018, the University started online evaluation of answer papers and in the same year approved Online Evolution Centre to the study centre.
Dr. Namdev N. Gajre, former Program Officer of National Service Scheme, has been appointed by the University as the Divisional Coordinator of National Service Scheme.
Centre Convener Prof. Yuvraj Govindrao Bhadane was honoured by the University with the Outstanding Work Award.
Many alumni who have graduated and post-graduate degrees from the study centre are today working in highly respectable positions in the society and are raising the reputation of the centre.
